When one door closes, another one opens..

December 9, 2009

I’ve got some good news and some bad news. First the good. I’ve been offered the chance to work for one of the coolest companies in the world. Starting Monday, I’ll officially be an iPhone Applications QA Engineer for Apple Inc. in California! It’s a great opportunity for me and my family. New start, new life, new scene! I’m super excited and I can’t wait to start!

Now the bad news. Because I’ve accepted this offer, I can’t develop any new apps or content for the App Store. It could be deemed unfair if an Apple employee was also creating apps and getting paid, as it is a conflict of interest. Sadly, this means that there will be no more new games or content updates from Solid 7 Studios. Of course, our current games and apps will still receive support in the form of free updates and bug fixes. Just no new content or features.

It’s been a blast being able to design games. It’s always been a dream to be able to create something that millions of people can play and enjoy. Thanks to everyone who supported us along the way. This journey has been one that I won’t soon forget. The App Store has taught me many things about this industry, and now I hope to take what I’ve learned and help make the iPhone the best phone in the world!

Thanks again to everyone! I’m off to Cupertino!

Thanks Unity 1.5.1!

December 2, 2009

Version 1.1.1 of Bounce Pop 2 has been approved! The private API removal fix in Unity 1.5.1 seemed to do the trick. The update is now available in iTunesĀ here. Hopefully the Zombie Pop update goes through as well!

The Bounce Pop 2 update includes:

-Fixes an issue where high scores don’t appear on the leaderboards right away.

-Better AGON Online integration. (Users are now automatically signed in).

-Streamlined AGON UI.

-Better support for older devices.

Also, both games are being reduced to $0.99 starting today! The prices drops should appear in the App Store shortly.

Ouch..rejections hurt!

November 23, 2009

So yeah. Last week we got bit by the Unity rejection bug. The latest updates to Bounce Pop 2 and Zombie Pop! were caught by the private API rejections that plagued the latest round of Unity releases. Today I resubmitted our updates with the hotfix provided by the Unity team, so we should be go to go now! Unfortunately, that means another 2 weeks of review time until the new versions are available :(

If anything changes regarding this issue I’ll post the news here.
